What is the Ha Giang Loop?

The Ha Giang Loop is a multi-day journey through the mountains of northern Vietnam, passing dramatic mountain roads, ethnic minority villages, river valleys, local communities and some of the most spectacular scenery in the country.

How many days should I spend on the Ha Giang Loop?

We offer both 3-day and 4-day experiences. The 3-day tour is ideal if you have limited time, while the 4-day tour offers a more balanced pace, more activities and more time to experience local life without rushing.

What makes Ha Giang Trip different?

We focus on small groups, safety-led pacing, meaningful local experiences and a journey designed around your energy. Our groups are limited to a maximum of 6 bikes so we can offer more personal attention and greater flexibility along the way.

How many people are in each group?

Our group tours are limited to a maximum of 6 bikes.

What is an Easy Rider?

An Easy Rider is a local professional rider who drives the motorbike while you ride as a passenger. It allows you to enjoy the scenery and mountain roads without having to drive yourself.

Can I drive the motorbike myself?

Self-driving is only suitable for travellers who meet the legal licence requirements and have appropriate motorbike experience. Ha Giang has steep mountain passes, sharp bends and changing road conditions, so we will ask about your licence and riding experience before confirming a self-drive tour.

I don't have an international driving licence. What should I do?

We recommend choosing an Easy Rider. You will still experience the entire Ha Giang Loop by motorbike, but a local rider will handle the mountain roads for you.

Do I need previous motorbike experience for an Easy Rider tour?

No. You do not need riding experience when travelling with an Easy Rider.

Is the Ha Giang Loop safe?

Mountain travel always involves some risk, but we design our tours around safety rather than speed or adrenaline. We provide a pre-tour briefing, bike and helmet checks, guide-controlled pacing, safe spacing and route adjustments when weather or road conditions require them.

Do you race or ride fast?

No. Our tours are not designed around racing or aggressive riding. The guide controls the pace of the group and safety comes before speed.

What happens if the weather is bad?

Our team monitors weather and road conditions throughout the journey. Routes, departure times or activities may be adjusted if conditions are not suitable for safe travel.

What type of accommodation is included?

Accommodation depends on the tour package you choose. Our 4-day tour includes 3 nights of accommodation along the route. Private-room options are available on selected packages and should be confirmed before payment.

Can I leave my large luggage at your Basecamp?

Yes. You can leave your large luggage at Ha Giang Trip Basecamp and take only the essentials you need for the Loop.

Can I shower before or after the tour?

Yes. Guests can use shower and rest facilities at our Basecamp before and after the tour, subject to operating conditions and availability.

What if I arrive in Ha Giang very early by sleeper bus?

You can come to Ha Giang Trip Basecamp to rest, freshen up and leave your luggage before the tour begins. We recommend sharing your arrival details with us in advance so we can help coordinate your arrival.

Can you arrange a sleeper bus from Hanoi?

Yes. We can help arrange sleeper bus transportation between Hanoi and Ha Giang.

What meals are included on the 4-day tour?

The 4-day tour includes 4 breakfasts, 4 lunches and 4 dinners. One lunch is enjoyed on a bamboo raft, and the final evening includes our Farewell Bamboo Dinner at Ha Giang Trip Basecamp.

Can you accommodate vegetarian or dietary requirements?

Please let us know about any dietary requirements or allergies before the tour. We will do our best to arrange suitable meals where possible.

What is the Clean Footprint activity?

Clean Footprint is a small, guide-led activity where guests can help collect plastic waste from selected areas along the route. Gloves and bags are provided, and collected waste is taken away for appropriate disposal.

What is included in the 4-day tour?

The package includes the Easy Rider, motorbike, fuel, helmet, local English-speaking guide, accommodation, meals, Nho Que River boat ticket, scheduled entrance fees, Border Entry Permit, basic protective equipment when needed, Clean Footprint equipment and selected Basecamp support.

Is the Border Entry Permit included?

Yes. The Border Entry Permit is included in our 4-day package.

Is Wi-Fi available during the tour?

We provide a portable hotspot where mobile network coverage is available. Because the Loop passes through remote mountain areas, continuous internet access cannot be guaranteed.

What should I pack for the Ha Giang Loop?

Bring comfortable clothing, closed shoes, sunscreen, personal medication and a light day bag. During colder months, especially from late autumn through winter, warm layers are strongly recommended for early mornings and evenings.

What happens at the end of the 4-day tour?

After returning to Basecamp, there is time to shower and rest before our Farewell Bamboo Dinner. We look back on the journey together and present guests with a personalised Ha Giang Loop Finisher Certificate.

What is “Travel Together. Unlock More.”?

On selected departures, additional wellness experiences are unlocked as the group grows. These benefits are added at no extra charge for eligible guests on that departure.

Can solo travellers join the tour?

Yes. Solo travellers are welcome and can join one of our small-group departures, subject to availability.

Do you offer private tours?

Yes. Private tours are available for travellers who prefer more privacy, flexibility or a journey designed around their own group.

Do you offer tours other than the standard Ha Giang Loop?

Yes. Depending on availability, we offer Easy Rider tours, private tours, photo tours, cultural experiences and Jeep/SUV options.

Do I need to book in advance?

We recommend booking in advance, especially during busy travel periods and if you require a private room, specific departure date or special arrangement.
